The Foresight Centre at the Parliament of Estonia has mentioned Testonica among a few Estonian companies having capacity and expertise needed to benefit from increasing global demand towards IC development services.

The brief report “Embedded Systems and Chip Technologies: The State of Play and Prospects” that reviews the potential of Estonian companies on the 550B market states that "The need for chips will skyrocket in the coming decade and experts are seeing opportunities opening up for Estonian businesses in chip design and verification... of chips".

According to the data of Startup Estonia, such Estonian companies as Testonica and Analoogdisaini AS among a few others will benefit from the fact that "a larger share of value creation has shifted from semiconductor production companies to development companies".

Testonica's CEO Artur Jutman adds that "It takes a few ingredients to start a chip design company: first the educated skilled labor (whereas TalTech School of IT offers the respective curricula) and second - proper EDA tools. Add here a reasonable financial boost and you will see another fast-growing startup star on the horizon. Many tend to overestimate that the seed investment has to be huge and unbearable for small countries like Estonia. This is not true, as an ASIC IP design company can start from nearly a zero investment. Moreover, European support initiatives like the Chips Act are creating a momentum and necessary leverage for fresh players on the market right now!"

Testonica already offers development and consulting services particularly in DFT and BIST (like IEEE Std. 1687 IJTAG).
